How to Avoid Time Traps Template

I know that each one of you has the same objection… I don’t have time for this.

The thing that most of us don’t realize is that time is not a renewable resource, once our time is gone we can never get it back. That’s is profound. WE CAN NEVER GET IT BACK.

We get caught up in the “urgent” and we loose our view of the “important”. We get caught up in unrealistic expectations, comparisons, fear of missing out, and the need for acceptance. As parents we all fall into the time trap. We are constantly saying yes to new things even though we don’t have enough time to finish what we have already signed up for.

In order to be successful, we have to define success. And have a plan in place to help us get there, especially during the times that we don’t feel like doing what needs to be done. Parenting takes a degree of intention and planning which all takes, you guessed it, TIME!

We have constant bids for time and attention. Husband, kids, friends, neighbors, co-workers, bosses, coaches, church, community service, sports, school parties , PTC, household chores, grocery shopping, the list goes on and on. It’s no wonder why parents between the age of 34-47 (generation X ) have been identified as the most stressed generation!

These bids are not equal in importance yet we treat each and everyday like a checklist. How many items can we get marked off today? The problem with that mindset is we are so focused on what is right in front of us that we miss the worthy, the impactful, the valuable moments that add depth and purpose to our lives.

Time well used is a gift. I am encouraging you to give this gift to yourself and make an everlasting impact on your family.
